Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer Intern
    Acheson, AB

The CFD Engineering Intern will work collectively with the CFD and Engineering team to develop practical skills needed to build your future career. In this role, you will be required to adapt to changing situations and apply engineering knowledge to create practical solutions.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide support to other members of the CFD and Engineering team
  • Use all available systems to search and compile technical information
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Collaborate with the team to produce detailed designs and drawings
  • Conduct cutting-edge computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and contribute product development and optimization.
  • Ability to use open-source tools like OpenFOAM to tackle complex multiphase flow simulations.
  • Compliance with quality and safety management requirements
  • Other duties as directed by the Innovation and Design Team

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Registered, or eligible for registration as an Engineer-In-Training with APEGA
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Willingness to learn and contribute in design, implementation, verification and qualification
  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize in order to meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • A commitment to excellence

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • This position is funded through IRAP and requires that the candidate:
  • Be under 30 years of age
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
